Blast from the past

Steve and Patricia, circa 1968

I found this funny website today called YearbookYourself, where you can see what you look like in old yearbook photos from the 50's all the way up to 2000. I have to warn you, the 80's photos are verrrry scarrrrry. It's free and it's lots of fun.
I'm channeling Mar from The Mary Tyler Moore Show. I'm getting ready to type up the evening news and get Mr. Grant another coffee, then have lunch with Rhoda at the steak house.
Steve looks so strange with dark hair, I'm so used to seeing him as a blondie!!

That was a lot of fun! I needed some fun after having a stressful day yesterday when I found out Eddie is sick with a kidney infection. He is at the vet clinic now getting treatment...IV fluids and antibiotics. I hope he comes through this okay. Please say a little prayer for my dear Eddie.

It's that time again....

Time to show some new items for the house and my shop!

We recently acquired this old clock that I found on craigslist for an amazing price...it cost only a paltry $25 dollars!! We were told that it has been converted to work on batteries and should work, although one of the hands is very loose...I am itching to see if it will work, I want to hear that wonderful tick tick tick, and see the pendulum swing back and forth rhythmically and soothingly. I adore old clocks.

Funnily enough, we saw this same clock in a restaurant, and it was ticking and pendulum was working.

So what else is new you ask?

I have just listed a new new pouches/cases in my shop, perfect for carrying your cosmetics, jewels, anything really!

This one, I call my Coral pouch with ribbon applique and painted dots, would be great as a pencil case...

and it has a green crystal bobble on the zipper...so fun!

I love this fabric on the back too!

This is a pretty little pouch, which is nice to carry jewels on a trip or your cosmetics.

It features a mint green lace trim with antique pink and ivory buttons.

I've also added another bracelet to the shop, talkofthetown!

I just love these beads in grape and a luminescent aqua, it features a unique tail.

And speaking of tails, Eddie is not feeling that great these days. We are taking him to the vet tomorrow for a check up and a few tests. I just got over having a sick pooch, and now Eddie goes and gets sick...I do hope it's not too serious! He is getting up there in years though, 14 or 15 now...I am not quite sure. Poor old Eddie, he's been throwing up, having diarrhea, and scratching himself, causing his fur to come off and he's lost quite an alarming amount of weight.

Please keep your fingers crossed that Eddie will be okay! I will post about his vet appt. in a few days.

Scenes from a porch

We recently acquired a white wicker loveseat that i scored on craigslist for a good price. I'd been looking all summer for a good one at a good price. Steve and I have been enjoying a few minutes every afternoon sitting and chatting a bit with a nice iced coffee.

Although Lulu looks incredibly sad in this photo, she loves sitting out here even if we're inside.
She watches people being walked by their dogs and sometimes greets them with an enthusiatic Aroooo when they stroll by.

The waning days of summer are upon us now. Notice Steve is wearing socks and a sweater!!

dog day afternoon

This cute thing wanted to go to the dog park/conservation.

'Are we there yet???'

Seeing as it was a warm and not too threatening to rain afternoon, we complied.

Here's where we went.

I think someone or something left this apple here and a squirrel started to gnaw at it.

The other side of the apple was gnaw free.

Mountain ash tree...I think.

The trail was awaiting us....

and our cute thing.

The black forest beckons...

Ahhhh nature..

This cutie was in my face....but I didn't mind one bit.

Hello!

'Nice to meet you, I'm Lulu"

The chase is on....see if you can catch me!

This lab had no interest whatsoever in our cute thing.

A bridge.

View from the bridge.

Lets play!

mossy rock.

This is where dogs meet and greet.

...ears a-flapping!

Time out for a cool dip and drink.

Gizmo the Chihuahua....not white for long with all the mud around!

That was a fun day!
