Change is a good thing!

So what have i been up to since Labour day you ask? Alot of labour actually!! I've been so very busy with different projects and i have some exciting news and i'm going to keep you in suspense for a moment but i will end the post with the announcement of something wonderful!

Lately, i've been having tea with Oprah...i switch it up every day...Earl Grey one day, or a nice Scottish blend tea that i got at the Scottish Bakery at the end of my street along with their scrumptious bourbon bisquits (cookies are bisquits in the U.K. for those not familiar). I love tea with cookies, a definite must for me!
pinkies out!

here are some latest shots of the garden, i love the afternoon glow!

this buddha is new - a lovely addition to the garden!

the morning glory on the vine is really flourishing!

Another change...i'm knitting!! Yeah! I took a knitting class the other day and i'm starting to get the hang of it now... i'm working on a scarfltette which i will add a vintage button for a little bling!

Next change up...i've opened a new shop on Etsy...selling jewelry that i make, i've been making my own jewelry for years on and off and i decide this fall i was going to start selling some....this merlot pendant is for sale in my shop....i must remember to post my shop in my blog!

I added this pretty in pink ring recently, i'm happy with the photography took...that sparkle is so blingy!

This is a photo of our bathroom during renovation- we decided to tear out the old laminate floor and add tile.....

We put in this lovely black and white french-style tile. We absolutely love it and it makes the bathroom look fab now!

And now for the best part of this post! I'm so excited to announce that we are getting .......

YESS! A PUPPY!!!

Meet our new baby girl Lue...She is my new puppy! Steve and I will be adopting her on Friday! Yipee! I'm so happy to finally have a dog and a girl is nice because there is enough boys in the house! Yeah for girls!! Her previous owner surrendered her because they had too many children or a new baby...i can't believe anyone could let this sweetheart go! I can't wait to get her! Steve and I decided awhile back that we wanted a dog and i've been checking this local shelter for one almost daily! We were very lucky to get her because after i saw her alot of other people wanted her but we got our application in toute suite and voila she was ours! Our little sweet Lue...although we want to call her Lulu, which is what she the previous owner called her. We walked her today and she was a doll! As we drove away today, she stood there quietly watching us as if to say 'hey, where are you going?' I'm sure she will be an adjustment for the cats, but i'm sure everything will be fine when they get used to each other.
Phew! This is getting long...sorry! I will post again soon with more photos of Lulu....
Can't wait!

Labour day...

was so pleasant. We had a leisurely weekend, and did'nt do much in the way of house fixing up, but that's alright. We wanted to have a non-labour day and just enjoy ourselves.

we took a lovely drive in the country with my brother and a friend and enjoyed the drive and exploring the area north of us.

i took many photos while we drove around...

this is a pumpkin patch...click and see the endless field of them.

we viewed alot of nice scenery...

and snapped photos of houses that we passed by, some humble and cosy...

and some grand and spacious....

this one has a widow's walk...

we stopped at a country store/cafe for coffee and a snack....we thought was called 'Poo Poo', but the owner said it was 'Doo Doo'....oops!

we found a huge Mexican Store called 'Primitives'....

that sold lots of cool stuff like stone animal sculptures....

funny faces...

stained glass and hand carved motorcycles...

skulls with horse hair...

robots made out of metal parts....

and lots of budhas....we got one for our garden, half price...

we passed through some small towns with wonderful architecture...

love these quaint general stores...

and vintage car..

...the day before Steve and I took another drive to a small picturesque town, Coburg, where we found a lovely restaurant for lunch called 'Oasis'. we had a terrific lunch, I had seafood chowder and a a green salad and Steve had a huge turkey club sandwich.

This funky green-haired lady greeted as we entered...she had fun red sunglasses and was enjoying a mojito...

afterwards we strolled through the town, admiring this magnificent city hall...

and local architecture... then found an organic fair trade coffee house, where we paid $9 for two iced cafe lattes.....ouch! Almost twice as expensive as Starbucks....

but it sure is nice to sit on a lovely sidewalk cafe with a nice view!
How was your weekend?
