Port Perry
I talked Steve into taking me on a Sunday Drive in the country looking at leaves so we drove up to Port Perry, pop. 18,000 i believe. It is a lovely little town about a half hour drive from Whitby. The downtown has a lot of lovely old architecture and there were some cute boutiques, bookstores, cafes, restos and antique stores. It was so warm and sunny, the perfect day for walking around, although many of the trees had lost their leaves or had not turned color, due to some weather issues. A bit disappointing compared to past years, but still i enjoyed what i saw! I just adore fall, walking through the leaves and spend a lot of time staring at the trees while on my daily walks with Lulu Belle. I have a small beef though, i wish people weren't for diligent about raking away the leaves right away, because one of my favorite things about fall is crunching the leaves beneath my feet on my walks.
An unusual store....and a great name!!!
This plaque says something about this geezer who received the first chiropractic adjustment in 1895 in Port Perry....ironic for me, since i have just recently started chiropractic care, in fact i have been diagnosed with a mild case of scoliosis, nothing to be too alarmed about, but i am going for treatments 3 times a week for the next month, since i hurt my back falling on the train. I still have a lot of pain since the accident and found out about the scoliosis from the x-rays.
A beautiful yellow tree next to Steve in front of the Lake. As you can see, it is so warm we didn't need sweaters!! This warm weather trend is ending as i speak, i think we've had our Indian summer!
Love this photo - the roof of this cabin is so beautiful against the blue sky!
Beautiful maple tree, it is huge!!
Port Perry had many gorgeous old houses!
I want this house, especially since it has my favorite lucky number -222!! I squealed in the car as we drove by, a felt a connection to the house! I know, I know, I am a strange one!
