was so pleasant. We had a leisurely weekend, and did'nt do much in the way of house fixing up, but that's alright. We wanted to have a non-labour day and just enjoy ourselves.

we took a lovely drive in the country with my brother and a friend and enjoyed the drive and exploring the area north of us.

i took many photos while we drove around...

this is a pumpkin patch...click and see the endless field of them.

we viewed alot of nice scenery...

and snapped photos of houses that we passed by, some humble and cosy...

and some grand and spacious....

this one has a widow's walk...

we stopped at a country store/cafe for coffee and a snack....we thought was called 'Poo Poo', but the owner said it was 'Doo Doo'....oops!

we found a huge Mexican Store called 'Primitives'....

that sold lots of cool stuff like stone animal sculptures....

funny faces...

stained glass and hand carved motorcycles...

skulls with horse hair...

robots made out of metal parts....

and lots of budhas....we got one for our garden, half price...

we passed through some small towns with wonderful architecture...

love these quaint general stores...

and vintage car..
...the day before Steve and I took another drive to a small picturesque town, Coburg, where we found a lovely restaurant for lunch called 'Oasis'. we had a terrific lunch, I had seafood chowder and a a green salad and Steve had a huge turkey club sandwich.

This funky green-haired lady greeted as we entered...she had fun red sunglasses and was enjoying a mojito...

afterwards we strolled through the town, admiring this magnificent city hall...

and local architecture... then found an organic fair trade coffee house, where we paid $9 for two iced cafe lattes.....ouch! Almost twice as expensive as Starbucks....

but it sure is nice to sit on a lovely sidewalk cafe with a nice view!
How was your weekend?
