blue feature fashion friday

Blue is my favorite color of the moment, because of the beautiful robins' eggs in my last posting...the color just blows me away.....

my latest purchase from Etsy, Cristinas's treasures....all the way from Spain, so cute this little blue star!
i also purchased this lovely opalite pendant, so pretty, it is also known as ice cream opalite. it is said to have healing properties that help with mood swings, i know i will definitely be using it on my moody blue days!!

random thoughts....

1. I love chips and pepsi as a snack....normally i eat a pretty healthy diet, but i crave this snack a few times a week.
2. I wish i had a sailboat....we live near a beautiful marina...i would love to learn to sail. ( i have been out a few times on a two man sloop, i think it's called). Being a water sign i just love anything to do with water, the beach, the lake, baths.
3. I am a night owl....i love to go to bed late and sleep in (but feel guilty when i do, naughty me!)
4. I used to be very shy and introverted as a young person...but not anymore!
5. I love the tv shows Lost, Desperate Housewives, and reality tv shows ANTM, Wife Swap and Survivor! I am also fond of Leave it to Beaver.
6. I want to have a daschund some day. I heart weiner dogs! Whenever i see one i have to pet them or talk to the owner.
7. I spend too much time reading newspapers, we have 3 papers delivered, The Toronto Star, The Sun and The Whitby Today...i do try to catch up on reading them in the evening and on the weekends, Steve and i spend practically the whole morning with our noses buried in newspapers.

waiting...walking and working

waiting......for new life to begin.
i snapped this today when Sally (the robin) left the nest for awhile...i did'nt know the eggs were layed, but the other day as she prepared her nest, i knew she would be laying them soon.....so i stood on a box and had to reach high holding the camera over the nest which i could not see directly into at that height. I jumped down and ran back inside the house in case she came back and caught me, then i viewed the photo and gasped.....i was tickled pink or rather, blue to see the 2 perfect robins' eggs, the prettiest shade of blue i had ever seen!! How exciting!


Sally the robin (is'nt she darling) keeping her eggs warm.


Steve and I walked on the trail by Lake Ontario this morning about 2 kilometers and back and at a fairly brisk pace.

took a rest for a minute before continuing on the walk....

said hello to a friend....

took some nature shots. love the red blossoms against the blue sky...





when we returned home, i made some eggs (not the robins, which Steve jokingly suggested, hardy de har har) and then got to work on the yard.....

i started by doing a big clean up of the potting table which was a big mess (forgot to take before pics) with leaves and junk piled there and around the area....i swept and removed all the stuff away and reorganized so i can start potting some containers tomorrow.

it looks so much better now....




the narcissus has bloomed!!

which must dry before birdie can lay her eggs.

from shabby to shabby chic

the sunroom off the kitchen...


is very messy and uninviting.


we throw junk in here so it looks just awful!!



it makes me feel frustrated and depressed whenever i look at it...



and is embarrasing when people visit.

I'm still going to add more shabby chic elements:

a glass table for magazines, books and plants
paint the one wall a nice light green
put up lots of cute framed pictures of flora or romantic imagery

I can't always sit in this room, as we get the afternoon sun and it heats up to an uncomfortable level. It's perfect for the morning or early evening though. It will eventually be a delightful little room that i can retreat to with my tea and cookies, while reading the latest issue of Country Living.
I will post more photos when the i make more changes.....i am so happy now when i look at this room, hurrah!!

i went shopping for some clothes the other day and this is what i picked up....

this lovely top (very Anthropologie) and can't wait to wear it with my white pants or jean capri's on a hot summer day!

a nice kelly green v-neck sweater - very light, perfect for a breezy evening or when i feel a chill from over air-conditioned rooms.

this ecru lace and peach frock is great paired with jeans or tights.

I got almost everything on sale (yee haw!) and i saved alot of moolah since they were 1/2 off prices....i just love sales!
I did'nt get the shoes or pants i needed, okay...Wanted....but there's always next trip.
